Evan J. Winer has nearly 25 years of trial experience and concentrates in all areas of criminal, DUI and traffic law. He works in the family firm of the Law Office of Winer & Winer located in Waukegan, Illinois.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Evan attended the University of Iowa where he graduated With Distinction (Cum Laude) and was chosen to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s most prestigious academic honors society. He went on to attend Loyola University of Chicago School of Law where he graduated and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1988 and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1989.
After working in the civil litigation division of the Chicago firm of Arnstein & Lehr, Evan became a Cook County Public Defender and gained extensive experience in all aspects of criminal defense, having been assigned to Juvenile Court, First Municipal Division, Felony Preliminary Hearings, Night Narcotics, and the Felony Trial Division. He later became a Lake County Public Defender in the Felony Trial Division and in 1993 joined his father and brother in the Law Offices of Winer & Winer. Evan concentrates in the defense of all criminal, DUI and traffic-related matter as well as Secretary of State license reinstatement hearings.
Evan is a member of the Lake County Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. He serves on the Criminal Law Committee of the Lake County Bar Association.
